We need sex education in ALL of our high schools, in all states! I know some states already do, but some isn't enough. Everyone deserves to know how their body works, not just students pursuing a medical career.
I would have never known what the hymen was if I weren't to have heard the word on a TV show and looked it up myself, and I didn't learn that it doesn't have to do with sex until a few days ago (I'm 18 years old) when I happened to be curious about my body and again, looked it up myself.
Students may dred sex education, but it is necessary. Students may feel uncomfortable during sex education, but it is better than having to teach yourself. When children have to teach themselves, they will be met with misconceptions and misinformation...
Examples:
-Masturbation is bad and abnormal.
-A broken hymen means you've had sex.
-Tampons/masturbation takes your virginity.
-Oral/anal sex is safe sex.
