A couple of days ago, I overheard a group of boys talking. They were speaking about how the girlfriend of one of their guy friends posted on Tik Tok. The post, according to them, was of her showing off her armpit hair. They proceeded to laugh and act disgusted as they claimed she had more armpit hair than her boyfriend.
I happen to know the girl they were talking about. I haven't seen the post and I don't know if she does have a lot of hair under her arms, but that really isn't the point. Is it okay for boys to do this? In our society, where girls AND boys are taught that girls need to shave every inch of their bodies, is it okay for boys to shame them for it too?
To me, the answer will always be no. It is never okay to shame someone. Period.
In fact, good for her for going against social standards and showing off what she was meant to have.
That's the thing that BOTH women and men need to realize, that we are MEANT to have body hair. And women need to realize that these guys are jerks for doing that to her. If you don't like it, move on to the next post, you don't need to say anything.
