This is a short post about something I've learned lately.
The show "All American" on Netflix made me realize a bit of white privilege today.
In the show, the main character and a supporting character (both black men) were confronted by police.
The show touches how African-Americans need to teach their children how to interact with police.
I see white privilege in this because as a white person, I don’t really face these problems.
No one has ever taught me to interact with the police, because I’m not black, so they assume it doesn’t matter for me.
The truth is, we all need to learn how to interact with police, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, police need to be taught how to interact with us, the people. Stay safe.
